Emilio Suarez

Emilio Suarez is a Calgary born musician currently studying Jazz Music at Capilano University. His main instruments are the double bass and electric bass. His other talents include guitar, piano, and cello.


After studying for may years under some of the country's top musicians Emilio has gained credibility for his own teaching. He has created his own style and curriculum to suit his students individual needs and goals. Each lesson is exciting and informative and gives the student a chance to perfect their technique while playing real and relatable songs and pieces. Emilio is an experienced private teacher and has taught the following instruments to numerous students in Calgary and Vancouver: Piano, Cello, electric bass, and acoustic bass. Private lessons are taught in your own home, at your own time, and involve careful attention to students of varying levels ranging from beginner to advanced. Emilio is an avid piano player and has composed over 30 works for multiple instruments on the piano. His students are known to enjoy his lesson repertoire which include his own pieces for solo piano, excerpts from the royal conservatory school of music, and a wide arrangement of common radio hits and pop songs.

Emilio has been teaching cello for several years and has numerous students currently in Vancouver. His students study the Suzuki method alongside their own musical interests for a balance of classical technique and practical and relatable repertoire

The bass is Emilio's main instrument. He has been featured on many notable recordings in all genres of music. He has experience with leading industry musicians playing the styles of classical, jazz, indie, rock, hip-hop, RnB, funk, and pop.
